Create Human-like ChatGPT Responses!

Create Human-like ChatGPT Responses!

When interacting with ChatGPT, I would like to receive outputs that sound more human and less robotic. While the technology itself is designed to produce human-like text based on the prompts it's given, the way you structure your prompts plays an important role in the quality and style of the output.

But how do you craft prompts that generate human-like and engaging responses? Based on research and a bit of trial and error, here's a compilation of strategies to make your ChatGPT interactions more life-like.

Be Casual

Your prompt's tone establishes the scene. It is more probable that a casual inquiry will receive a casual, human-like response. Start with a friendly opener when starting a conversation. Be yourself. It's a chat after all.

Something as simple as asking how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich:

Compared to:

While both responses provide good instructions, the second is less formal with more of a conversational tone. I set the stage for the tone of the conversation with a casual intro statement and some initial dialog as if talking to a real person. ChatGPT attempts to respond in kind, matching my tone. The rest of the chat will be very casual.

Reset The Conversation

If you start a conversation and responses are less than life-like, you can "reset" it. In response to my first conversation, ChatGPT was a bit stiff. Let's loosen things up:

Notice the Emojis. It may seem odd, but just like humans, ChatGPT understands the meaning of Emojis. Use smileys and other positive Emojis to evoke emotion in your conversations. It goes a long way.

The conversation is friendly and ChatGPT wants to make sure my toast is just the way I like it ๐Ÿ˜.

Use Everday Language

Feel free to use slang or colloquialisms to mirror how you would talk to a good friend or colleague on a day-to-day basis. Casual signoffs help too!

The world of AI communication is vast, and mastering the art of prompting is both a science and an art. With the right techniques, you can craft interactions that are more relatable, engaging, and, most importantly, human. So, the next time you're talking to ChatGPT, have some fun, and remember these tips!
